At a luncheon in May 2015, less than a year before he passed away, Justice Antonin Scalia was asked what he thought of a Constitutional Convention. He described it as a "horrible idea," which was then published in a newspaper account of the event.

Supporters of a Convention of States like to quote Justice Scalia from early in his career, before he was a federal appellate judge for decades, but his view against a Convention of States was clear after he had that experience.
