In 1996, Phyllis Schlafly is recognized as having boosted Pat Buchanan to a stunning upset victory over Bob Dole in the New Hampshire primary. Wikipedia explains:

Buchanan defeated Senator Bob Dole by about 3,000 votes to win the February New Hampshire primary, getting his campaign off to an energetic start. He was endorsed by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly among others. [1]

In 2016, Phyllis Schlafly's praise for Donald Trump was instrumental in his landslide victory by a margin of 35-16%.
