About Phyllis Schlafly
Phyllis Schlafly was politically active for more than 70 years, i.e., 7 decades. She started right after she obtained a masters degree in Political Science from Harvard (then Radcliffe for women), and continued to be active until she passed away on September 5, 2016. Her book The Conservative Case for Donald Trump was released coincidentally the day after she passed away, and became an instant New York Times bestseller. Trump spoke at her funeral and then he won a surprise victory on Election Day 2016.
Phyllis Schlafly wrote more than two dozen books, including the 1964 classic "A Choice Not An Echo" which sold 3 million copies and became the foundation of the modern conservative movement. Then, in the 1970s, she led the movement to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment against all odds. That cemented the grassroots social conservatism which is the base of the Republican Party today.
Phyllis Schlafly left a legacy of 4 times as much writings as William Shakespeare, and millions of followers. Her influence over the Republican Party platform continues to this day, and 85% of Republican elected officials vote consistent with the platform.
Phyllis Schlafly is widely credited for making the Republican Party pro-life.
