In New Jersey, the per-pupil reimbursement by public school districts to charter schools varies depending on location, but is listed here. For K-5, the reimbursement is as high as $20,000 per student per year, and even higher in a few jurisdictions.

In Texas, at one point more than 100,000 students languished on waiting lists for charter schools, as explained here when Rick Perry was Governor.
